Welcome!
I continue today a series of articles organized in a table-like manner, starting from my own experiences:
-
As a participant in instruction/training sessions held by others;
-
As a consultant in training-related issues;
-
As a trainer
I have divided these” manifestations of sincerity” into 5 main categories, which I am presenting during this series:
- The value of what you learn
- The learning experience itself
- The applicability of what you learn
- Time management and the image which has convinced you
- Communication with the non-formal education provider.
Have fun reading it and sharing it!
What trainers, supervisors, instructors, and facilitators HAVEN’T told you so far, but most of them are likely to think. |
What I, as a facilitator/trainer, haven’t told you so far |
III. About the applicability of what you learn |
|
Have you seen me implement what I teach? Let’s be serious, shall we? If I were to do that all the time, I wouldn’t be here teaching you. What do you mean if people come to me for consultancy on the topic of the seminar I deliver? Of course, in consultancy, people want practical things. During the seminar, however, I can tell you about my theories (unverified yet) without your asking for as much as possible per the paid time unit. |
I have implemented or am implementing all that I teach, and, moreover, it has worked at least in consultancy and/or for me. During the training session, I usually teach the most functional things, for which I have received positive feedback in consultancy. Therefore, it is easy to recognize how I implement some of the things I present in my activity. |
Which results have I had using what I present during my seminar? Well, I brought you here so you have the answer to a part of your question… So please stop asking me this because I actually wanted to work in research – at least, I asked the difficult questions… |
I must bring as many useful things as possible to my seminars, starting from situations encountered in my professional experience, by my consultancy clients, or in the discussions held with the participants in previous editions of the respective seminar. This way, I can cover as many of the recurrent matters as possible that may preoccupy you, the one who comes to me. So I am aware of the main obstacles that you may stumble upon when you start implementing the tools that I recommend. I also know some creative measures that may be taken to remedy or prevent this. I am using my experience and knowledge accumulated from the past to optimize the current learning process. That is why some people think I have answers to all the questions, but it is not true. I have answers to the most frequently asked questions. In consultancy, absolutely every week, I receive questions and challenges that make my head spin, so I have no time to get bored. You won’t get bored either! You will realize that yourself – it is a process and a journey of personal development and also professional development, where not only the destination is special but also the trip itself! Have a pleasant journey! Let’s hit the road together! |
I don’t understand why you want me to give you a demonstration so that you will see how I act as a model. Do you want to check up on me, by any chance? I don’t believe in recipes. However, you do. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be here. So you try this recipe because I don’t feel like it, I don’t have time, and I don’t need to. |
A part of the clients that come to my seminars is consultancy clients and collaborators. Another part is represented by clients from other seminars of mine. Some persons have participated in as many as 3 or 4 of my seminars. Other persons have come by way of recommendation from other former participants. Others are regular readers of my blogs or books. So, there are enough people who come again to learn something new from me, and they also recommend me to others. Why? Because I offer what works. |
If you came to my seminar, you probably don’t have money for many other seminars. I know, what is a lot for you, is a little for me. However, you don’t really have any terms of comparison. I can rest assured. You just keep on sleeping! |
Many participants and I have been to other seminars and training courses. I will not say that mine is the best because I cannot compare to others having 20 or 40 years of uninterrupted experience and better technical and organizational resources. However, I can assure you that I am beyond the average market level. |
